Pratchett Yeti

Newsflash: the great Sir Terry Pratchett has written a story about the Abominable Snowman!

It will be included in his book of short stories, Dragons of Crumbling Castle, which will be released in the UK on September 11, 2014 and in the US on February 3, 2015.

Starting TODAY as a preview for the UK release, one can download the Abominable Snowman story as an ebook!

Illustrations in the book are by Mark Beech, who has illustrated yeti before: a yeti spaghetti.

Here's the synopsis

Captain the Honourable Sir Herbert Stephen Ernest Boring-Tristram-Boring (known to his friends as Bill) is very rich but very bored.

When famous explorer Amos Tence* shows up at his front door, life gets considerably more exciting. Before long, he’s speeding off in a taxi to the mountains of Chilistan in search of the hairiest, most mysterious monster ever known – an ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN!

A fantastically funny short story from the collection Dragons at Crumbling Castle.

[*Yes, that Amos Tence – the same man who punted from Brighton to Bombay in the bath. It’s true.]

Note: For my 2014 Wish List for Santa, I wanted to see a yeti illustrated from Pratchett's Discworld.  I still want to see that!  But this short story does tide me over for a while. So, thanks, St. Nick!
